EarthLink Email Login: How to Sign In to Web Mail

Sign in to EarthLink Web Mail, fix sign-in problems, and keep your mailbox from going stale and rejecting new mail after 90 days.

EarthLink’s webmail is called Web Mail (with a space). It works for EarthLink addresses — @earthlink.net, @mindspring.com and other EarthLink-family domains.

  1. Go to webmail.earthlink.net.
  2. Sign in with your full EarthLink email address and password.
  3. Your Inbox opens by default — or select it in the menu on the left.

Can’t sign in?

  • Forgot your password: click Forgot your password? under the sign-in options and follow the prompts — see resetting your EarthLink password.
  • Blank page or empty Inbox: close your browser completely, including other windows, then reopen it and sign in again. Make sure cookies are on, and clear your browser’s temporary files.

Sign in every 90 days — or new mail stops

If you don’t sign in to Web Mail, MyEarthLink or the EarthLink Portal for 90 days, EarthLink marks your mailbox stale:

  • EarthLink emails you to say so.
  • New mail is no longer delivered. Senders get an automatic rejection saying the mailbox isn’t accepting mail because of inactivity.
  • Email you already have isn’t affected.

Signing in again — or checking your email — turns delivery back on. But anything sent while the mailbox was stale is lost: EarthLink can’t recover it. Two settings also keep the mailbox active: a vacation message (Web Mail › Preferences › Sending & Replying › Vacation Message) or email forwarding.

Missing email? Check Known Spam

EarthLink’s spamBlocker can’t be switched off. Confirmed spam goes to Known Spam; with Suspect Spam on, mail from senders not in your Address Book is held for you to check. If a real email lands there, select it and click This is NOT spam.

Organise as you go

To move an email to another folder in Web Mail, tick the box next to it and choose a folder from Move to — or use Move To at the top when the message is open.

Using an email app too?

You can use Web Mail and an app side by side. To see the same folders in both, use IMAP on every device. Settings: EarthLink email settings.

Watch out for fake “EarthLink email support” numbers

Pages that look like EarthLink help and push a phone number are a common trap for EarthLink email users. Use EarthLink’s own help at help.earthlink.net. Never give your password or a verification code to someone who contacted you, and never let them control your computer. More in the email security hub. Moving between providers?
