How to Reset a GoDaddy Email Password
Reset a forgotten GoDaddy email password — Microsoft 365 or Professional Email — or have the account owner or admin do it for you.
A GoDaddy email password is separate from your GoDaddy account password. Resetting one doesn’t change the other. The steps below are for the email password; first check which product you have in GoDaddy email login.
Microsoft 365 or Professional Email: reset it yourself
Both products use the same flow — only the starting page differs:
- Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy: start at GoDaddy’s Microsoft 365 sign-in page, sso.godaddy.com.
- Professional Email: start at email.godaddy.com.
- Under Sign In, click Need to find your password?
- Enter your email address and click Continue.
- Choose where to send the reset link: your recovery email, your account on another device, or your GoDaddy account owner. If none of these work, select I don’t have access to any of these and follow the prompts.
- Click Send Link.
- Open the email and click Reset Your Password.
- Enter the new password twice. No recovery email yet? You can add one here — do it.
- Click Change Password, then sign in again.
If the reset goes to the account owner
When you send the link to your GoDaddy account owner, your part ends at Send Link. GoDaddy says the owner then has to open that email and reset the password for you — so tell them it’s coming. If you are the owner and can sign in to GoDaddy, you can change a user’s password from the Email & Office Dashboard instead.
Workspace Email: the admin resets it
- The Workspace Email admin signs in to the Workspace Control Center with their GoDaddy username and password (Workspace Email credentials don’t work there).
- Expand the row for the email account and select Edit.
- Enter the new password in Change Password and Confirm Password, then save.
GoDaddy says the change can take up to 30 minutes, so wait before trying the new password. Workspace Email is being retired, so this is also a good moment to plan the move to Microsoft 365.
Lost your multi-factor method?
For Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, the fix for “I set up MFA but can’t use my method” is to reset the MFA method rather than the password.
After you reset
- Update the password in Outlook, Apple Mail or your phone — see GoDaddy email settings.
- Never reset because of an unexpected email or phone call. Go to GoDaddy’s pages yourself; the email security hub explains the common scams.
